Truckstop.com

You may also have heard of the "Internet Truck Stop", and Truckstop.com is it. Over 200,000 trucking companies and freight brokers use the website. This is in the top 5 load boards to know for many people. This is a large company, but most of our trucking insurance customers use one of the other services. Though we have heard good things from people who use the online freight load board.

123 Load Board

This is another major online load board that posts nearly 50 million loads a year, you will find freight brokers like TQL, DSV, Mercer Transportation, England Logistics, Knight Transportation, J.B. Hunt, and more. One interesting thing is that their Premium tier plan is only $55/month so adding it as an additional place to find work won't hurt your pocket...as much. Their website design and user interface is very nice. It does not overload your brain with too many things popping up out of no where and flashing at you until you have a seizure.

NextLOAD

What makes this load board so great? Because it was build by the freight factoring company Apex Capital? Nope! It is great because NextLOAD is a free online load board. Just because it is free does not mean that it isn't any good, there are some unique features like having to credit check brokers and shippers directly within their load board. They have basically tied in things that your truck factoring company may normally provide you. The best way to describe this board is a truck load board built from the perspective of a trucking factoring company.

Uber Freight

This is not really a load board, but it is Uber! Their website says "Tap A Button, Book A Load", I guess it is that easy. Uber Freight is a free app that matches carriers with shippers. The also advertise that they pay carriers fast, in only 7 days. I can certainly say that it is highly unusual to get paid that fast in the transportation world especially for a small trucking company. If they are keeping that promise its definitely worth trying out. Just be sure to check with your Truck Insurance Agent to make sure your truck insurance policy does not have any transportation network exclusions. Most truck insurance agents started seeing policy change notices starting to go out in 2017 and 2018. We would advise researching Uber Freight before using it as it is a new company without much of a track record, also unlike the other companies it is more of a tech company than anything else, which means this could be something great or it could be something horrible. Look through the normal blogs like https://www.thetruckersreport.com and decide for yourself.

Trulos.com

This site didn't really make our list but it is a resource. This website is bloated and your attention is drawn all over the place, so you might say we are not fans of the website. Just from an aesthetic or design perspective we could not recommend this load board. We are mentioning it because they have announced "Blockchain coming To Trulos!" Mayflower Insurance is comitted to the decentralization movement including block chain technology. Whether this materializes into a real technology that solves a problem is anyone's guess, but it certainly is interesting.

Getloaded.com, http://www.getloaded.com/ This is not in our list above because it was bought out by DAT. See our link to the DAT Load Board above. References: "The Five Best Load Boards Every Trucker Should Know" http://www.rtsfinancial.com/articles/top-five-load-boards-every-trucker-should-know#
